About Our Practice
Our practice is in Norwich, Connecticut, a quiet community with approximately 35,000 people in Eastern Connecticut. OB-GYN Services consist of seven physicians, two nurse practitioners, and three licensed nurse midwives.
We exclusively use William Backus Hospital, a 225-bed, 100+ year old institution with modern facilities supporting the community and their needs.
Our main office consists of our Business Administration as well as our Gynecological practice. It is located at 17 Case Street, less than two miles from the hospital, and on two acres of land in a building originally built in 1750 with six fireplaces, including one in our main lobby. A four thousand square foot addition was added in 1980.
Our gynecological office performs ultrasounds, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, urodynamics, LEEP procedures, Essure, Implanon, and in office Thermal Ablations.
Our Obstetrics practice is located at 330 Washington Street, Suite 340, in a separate office in the medical building at Backus Hospital. It is less than 100 yards from the birthing center, making it convenient for our patients to be seen by the doctor on call when it is time to deliver. The Birth Center was completed in 1994 with 18 private LDRP rooms, Two C-section OR suites, a Level I Nursery, and our on call room. We are accredited with AIUM to perform Obstetrical Ultrasounds and have numerous resources available to patients to help them through their pregnancy.
Appointments
Appointment times vary on a day to day basis. Our first appointment is 8:30 AM, and the last appointment is 4:00 PM. We have Tuesday appointments until 6:30 PM for our GYN office for the convenience of our patients.
Routine (no special problems) physicals and PAP smear appointments should be made two months in advance. This will enable us to schedule enough time for you and the doctor to have a comfortable visit.
The practice of Obstetrics does not lend itself to a strict schedule. Deliveries, medical emergencies, and unexpected changes in the surgical schedule may delay us or require that we reschedule you completely. If you are on a tight schedule, please let the receptionist know.
Pregnancy tests can be performed without an appointment. The fee for the pregnancy test is payable at the time of the service. The urine specimen should be the first one of the morning.
